Sunday Morning Study Group – Our Sunday Morning Study Group is back! Join us Sundays at 8:30 AM as we continue with Season 4 of The Chosen. Come enjoy Scripture, discussion, fellowship, and a deeper look at the stories of Jesus and His disciples. It’s not too late to join—everyone is welcome! Noodles & Crafts – Noodles & Crafts will meet Tuesday, September 15 at 9:00 AM, and this week they’ll be making noodles! Come lend a hand, enjoy some conversation, and spend the morning in fellowship. Everyone is welcome to join! United Methodist Men’s Fellowship Breakfast – The United Methodist Men will gather for a Fellowship Breakfast this Wednesday, September 16 at 7:00 AM. Come enjoy breakfast, conversation, and fellowship together! Following this gathering, the Men’s Fellowship Breakfast will begin its regular schedule on October 7, meeting on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month at 7:00 AM. All men are welcome to join! New Adult Study: “The Wired Word” – Beginning Wednesday, September 16, Pastor Mark will lead a new adult study called The Wired Word. Each week, the group will explore a recent news story or current event and look at it through the lens of Scripture and faith. Pastor Mark will introduce the week’s topic, followed by discussion questions and Scripture passages that help connect our faith to what is happening in the world around us. It’s a chance to share different perspectives, ask questions, and consider how biblical wisdom speaks into today’s world. Pastor Mark has led this study at previous churches, where it has been very well received. Two weekly options are available: Youth Group Returns – Youth Group is back! Join us Wednesday, September 16 from 5:30–7:30 PM at the Lions Club Park Gazebo for an evening of fishing, food, and fun! Bring your fishing pole, and parents are welcome to join us too! We’ll be grilling burgers, so please let us know if you plan to attend so we can have an accurate count for food. After our kickoff, Youth Group will continue meeting Wednesdays at 5:30 PM at the church. We’re excited to get started again and hope to see you there! Treehouse After-School Program – The Treehouse is a free after-school program open to all elementary students Kindergarten through 4th grade, beginning Wednesday, September 16. Treehouse will meet Wednesday afternoons after school until 5:30 PM and will include snacks, crafts, games, Bible stories, and time for kids to simply be kids! To sign your student up, please call the church office at 605-720-5578 during office hours. Volunteers are also needed! Help with Bible stories, crafts, games and activities, snacks, or simply by offering kindness and encouragement. No experience is needed—just a heart to serve! If you are interested in volunteering, contact Crystal or call the church office during office hours. Daily Scripture Readings – We invite you to spend time each day in God's Word through these daily Scripture readings. These passages are selected to complement the worship life of the Church and provide opportunities for prayer, reflection, and spiritual growth throughout the week. Thank you for supporting this ministry and helping make their work in our community possible! Free Little Pantry – Our Free Little Pantry is available for anyone who may need a little extra help. Please feel free to take what you need, that’s what it’s here for. If you are able, you’re also welcome to give what you can. Donations of non-perishable food, snacks, toiletries, and hygiene items are always appreciated. A suggested list of items is posted on the bulletin board. The UMC - Alter Youth Group has installed the pantry at the entry of the church parking lot. For larger donations, please coordinate with the church office staff. Want to Promote an Event or Ministry? – Do you have something you’d like to share with the church family? Whether it’s an upcoming event, ministry opportunity, fundraisers, or special announcement, we’d love to help spread the word in our monthly newsletter! To ensure your information is included, please submit all newsletter items by the 25th of each month. This allows us time to prepare and publish the upcoming issue.
