Christmas Eve Candlelight Service - Join us as we welcome the miracle of Christmas! Please join us for an evening of reflection and joyful worship as we celebrate the birth of our Savior. Wednesday, December 24th at 4:30 pm.

Advent Study 2025 - Join us for a four-week Advent study exploring A Child is Born by Amy-Jill Levine. Two ways to join: in person, Sunday mornings at 8:30 am (began November 30th); online, Monday evenings (starting December 1st) from 6-7:15 pm led by Bishop Lanette Plambeck. (Register for the Zoom session at dakotasumc.org.) Prepare your heart for the Advent season through learning, reflection, and fellowship.

Finishing the Year in Gratitude - As this year draws to a close, we pause to give thanks for your faithful generosity. Every gift has helped our church live out its mission — worshiping God, serving neighbors, and growing disciples. Your giving makes ministry possible, from the lights in the sanctuary to the lives touched in our community. If you find you’ve fallen a bit behind on your giving this year, there’s still time to catch up. A year-end gift, whether large or small, helps your church finish strong and start the new year on a solid footing. Most of all, it’s an act of gratitude — a way of saying “thank you” to God for blessings received. Together, we are the body of Christ, and every offering — every dollar, every prayer, every act of service — strengthens our shared witness. Thank you for your faithfulness!

Youth Group - Caroling and Games – UMC Youth Group will be meeting at Aspen Grove this Wednesday, December 17th from 5:30-7:00 pm, for caroling and games. Anyone is invited to come!

Church Cross Repairs - The United Methodist Men are looking forward to completing the project of repairing the UMC Cross logo on the west side of the church. Rosenbaum Signs has ordered the parts and will be doing the repairs once they have been received. The bid for this repair is $6000. United Methodist Men has donations but giving everyone a chance to help. Any donations or contributions can be made payable to the United Methodist Men (UMM). If you have any questions, reach out to Tim Brown 701-830-2162.

United Methodist Men – Will be meeting this Wednesday, December 17th at 7:00 am. Come share breakfast, conversation, and fellowship.

Free Little Pantry – Our Free Little Pantry is available for anyone who may need a little extra help. Please feel free to take what you need, that’s what it’s here for. If you are able, you’re also welcome to give what you can. Donations of non-perishable food, snacks, toiletries, and hygiene items are always appreciated. A suggested list of items is posted on the bulletin board. The UMC - Alter Youth Group has installed the pantry at the entry of the church parking lot. For larger donations, please coordinate with the church office staff.

Winter Connection 2026 – Youth in grades 6-12 are invited to join churches from across the region for Winter Connection on January 30-31, 2026. Cost is $40 per participant. This year’s theme is “Functioning Parts” based on Romans 12:4-8. Activities include worship, a mission project with Habitat for Humanity, and a trip to Jump & Slide Adventure Park. See the flyer on the bulletin board for full details and registration information.

Help Needed: Winter Connection – We are quickly approaching the DakYouth event "Winter Connection" which will be held at First UMC January 30-31 (629 Kansas St., Rapid City). They are hoping for volunteers that will consider hosting a meal or snack for the group (approx 25-30). Understanding that this can be a larger expense, please don't hesitate to share the cost with another church. If you can help or have any questions, please reach out to Rev. Quaya at pastorquaya.rvumc@gmail.com.
