January Sermon Series - As a new year begins, many of us long for greater consistency - in our faith and in daily life. Our January sermon series, "Consistent: Hearts, Habits, and Lives", invites us to allow God’s Word to form how we live, love, and follow Christ each day. Join us as we discover how God’s Word anchors us in a faithful, steady life. “The Chosen” Bible Study - Join us every Sunday at 8:30 am to study along with the series "The Chosen." We will be watching and discussing the series along with reading scripture passages that coincide with the events in each episode. Bring your bible, notebook, writing utensils, and join us. Everyone is welcome. United Methodist Men – Will be meeting this Wednesday, January 7th at 7:00 am. Come share breakfast, conversation, and fellowship. United Women in Faith – Unit meeting will be this Thursday, January 8th at 1:30 pm. Coffee with the Pastor – Interested in learning more about our church or becoming a member? Join Pastor Jenene for coffee and conversation about the church and next steps in getting connected on Sunday, January 25th following worship. Youth Group – All Middle (6-8th) and High School (9-12th) students are welcome to join on Wednesdays at 5:30 pm. Come start the new year hanging out, having fun, and growing together! Free Little Pantry – Our Free Little Pantry is available for anyone who may need a little extra help. Please feel free to take what you need, that’s what it’s here for. If you are able, you’re also welcome to give what you can. Donations of non-perishable food, snacks, toiletries, and hygiene items are always appreciated. A suggested list of items is posted on the bulletin board. The UMC - Alter Youth Group has installed the pantry at the entry of the church parking lot. For larger donations, please coordinate with the church office staff. Winter Connection 2026 – Youth in grades 6-12 are invited to join churches from across the region for Winter Connection on January 30-31, 2026. Cost is $40 per participant. This year’s theme is “Functioning Parts” based on Romans 12:4-8. Activities include worship, a mission project with Habitat for Humanity, and a trip to Jump & Slide Adventure Park. See the flyer on the bulletin board for full details and registration information. Help Needed: Winter Connection – We are quickly approaching the DakYouth event "Winter Connection" which will be held at First UMC January 30-31 (629 Kansas St., Rapid City). They are hoping for volunteers that will consider hosting a meal or snack for the group (approx 25-30). Understanding that this can be a larger expense, please don't hesitate to share the cost with another church. If you can help or have any questions, please reach out to Rev. Quaya at pastorquaya.rvumc@gmail.com. Easter Cantata News - Singers are invited to join the 2026 Easter Cantata Choir. Practices will be held every Sunday from 1:30-3:00 pm beginning Feb. 15 – March 22 at Grace Lutheran Church in Sturgis. Performances will be March 29 and 31.
