Daily Scripture Readings – Week of April 5: Sunday – Matthew 28:1-10, 16-20 April Sermon Series: Both/And - Clear-cut categories can be helpful - they make life feel simpler and easier to understand. But real life doesn’t always fit neatly into boxes. In this series, we’ll explore how faith in Christ invites us beyond an “either/or” view of the world and into the fullness of “both/and.” There are small group study materials available, if interested. “The Chosen” Bible Study - Join us every Sunday at 8:30 am to study along with the series "The Chosen." We will be watching and discussing the series along with reading scripture passages that coincide with the events in each episode. Bring your bible, notebook, writing utensils, and join us. Everyone is welcome. Youth Group – All Middle (6-8th) and High School (9-12th) students are welcome to join on Wednesdays at 5:30 pm. Bring a friend and come hang out, have fun, and grow together! Church Community Lunch - Join us after worship on April 19th for our monthly Church Community Lunch. All are welcome – bring your appetite, your friends and family. We can’t wait to see you there. CISS Women’s Shelter Supplies Drive – A National Honor Society student from Sturgis Brown High School is organizing a donation drive to support the CISS Women’s Shelter here in Sturgis. They are collecting hygiene products, cleaning supplies, baby items (diapers sizes 1-6 and wipes). And new clothing (underwear, socks, and bras). Donations may be placed in the collection box located in the Fellowship Hall. All items are due by April 23rd. Thank you for helping support women and families in need in our community. Connection Cards – We’d love to connect with you! Please take a moment to fill out a Connection Card in the lobby, and once completed, place it in the basket. As a thank you, please feel free to choose one of the books provided. Free Little Pantry – Our Free Little Pantry is available for anyone who may need a little extra help. Please feel free to take what you need, that’s what it’s here for. If you are able, you’re also welcome to give what you can. Donations of non-perishable food, snacks, toiletries, and hygiene items are always appreciated. A suggested list of items is posted on the bulletin board. The UMC - Alter Youth Group has installed the pantry at the entry of the church parking lot. For larger donations, please coordinate with the church office staff. Treehouse After School Program – Treehouse meets Tuesdays at 3:30 pm. If interested in enrolling your child, please call Lina Raths 605-490-7247. If you would like to volunteer, please add your name to the sign-up sheet. Newsletters – We are currently experiencing issues with our emailed newsletters being delivered to some inboxes. We are working with the provider on finding a solution. While this gets sorted out, you can view the newsletters anytime by accessing the ‘About’ tab on our website (www.sturgisumc.org). Thank you for your patience and understanding. Start Something New - If you are interested in facilitating a small group, please contact the Church Office to learn more. We have an opening for a Sunday morning group that would follow along with the weekly sermon series. Want to Promote and Event or Ministry? – Do you have something you’d like to share with the church family? Whether it’s an upcoming event, ministry opportunity, fundraisers, or special announcement, we’d love to help spread the word in our monthly newsletter! To ensure your information is included, please submit all newsletter items by the 25th of each month. This allows us time to prepare and publish the upcoming issue. You can send your details to the church office at sturgisumc@hotmail.com. Please include dates, times, locations, and contact information. Thank you for helping keep everyone connected! Help Us Care for Our Church Family If you or someone you know has been hospitalized, moved, become homebound, or transitioned to a care center, please let us know. Staying connected helps us extend prayers, visits, and support during important life changes. You can contact the church office at 605-720-5578 so we can include them in our caring ministries. Thank you for helping us look after one another with love and compassion.
