AnnouncementsRoll out: Congregation Photo Directory App – Our new church directory is up and running! If you haven’t accessed it yet, download the Instant Church Directory app and log in using the email address we have on file for you at the church. You will receive a verification code by email—enter that code in the app, and you’re in! If your email address does not work, we may need to update the information we have on file. Please contact the church office, and we’ll be happy to help get you connected. We are still taking photos for the directory! If you haven’t had your photo taken yet, someone from the Leadership Team, Pastor Mark, Lisa, or Crystal will be happy to take it for you. We hope everyone will participate as we continue building a helpful way for our church family to connect names and faces and get to know one another better! Church Office Closed – The church office will be closed on Monday, September 7, for Labor Day. United Women in Faith Quilt Raffle – Don’t miss your chance to win some wonderful prizes while supporting the ministry of United Women in Faith! The raffle drawing will be held on November 7 during the UWF Fall Bazaar. This year’s prizes include a beautifully handmade quilt, grocery gift cards, a gas gift card, and more! Raffle tickets are just $5 each, making it easy to join in the fun and support a great cause. If you would like to purchase a ticket, please contact a member of United Women in Faith. Thank you for supporting this ministry and helping make their work in our community possible! United Women in Faith Rummage Sale – The United Women in Faith Rummage Sale is coming up! Join us for some great finds and help support the ministry of UWF. Rummage Sale will take place Friday, September 11th | 4:00–7:00 PM and Saturday, September 12th | 8:00 AM–1:00 PM. Have items to donate? Drop-offs will be accepted Wednesday (Sept 9th) from 9:00 AM–2:00 PM during office hours or Thursday (Sept 10th) from 1:00–5:00 PM. Please note: Items cannot be accepted after 5:00 PM Thursday due to a meeting taking place at the church. Come shop, browse, and support UWF! Parsonage Open House & Ice Cream Social – Join us for an Open House & Ice Cream Social at the Parsonage (2580 Starline Ave) on Sunday, September 13, from 2:00–4:00 PM! Everyone is invited to stop by, enjoy some ice cream, and spend some time getting to know one another. We hope you’ll join us! Looking Ahead: Ministries Back from Summer Break – Summer break is coming to an end, and several of our church ministries are getting ready to return! We look forward to gathering together again and hope you will join us.
Treehouse After-School Program – The Treehouse is a free after-school program open to all elementary students Kindergarten through 4th grade, beginning Wednesday, September 16. Treehouse will meet Wednesday afternoons after school until 5:30 PM and will include snacks, crafts, games, Bible stories, and time for kids to simply be kids! To sign your student up, please call the church office at 605-720-5578 during office hours. Volunteers are also needed! Help with Bible stories, crafts, games and activities, snacks, or simply by offering kindness and encouragement. No experience is needed—just a heart to serve! If you are interested in volunteering, contact Crystal or call the church office during office hours. Daily Scripture Readings – We invite you to spend time each day in God's Word through these daily Scripture readings. These passages are selected to complement the worship life of the Church and provide opportunities for prayer, reflection, and spiritual growth throughout the week. Please feel free to take what you need, that’s what it’s here for. If you are able, you’re also welcome to give what you can. Donations of non-perishable food, snacks, toiletries, and hygiene items are always appreciated. A suggested list of items is posted on the bulletin board. The UMC - Alter Youth Group has installed the pantry at the entry of the church parking lot. For larger donations, please coordinate with the church office staff. Connection Cards – We’d love to connect with you! Please take a moment to fill out a Connection Card in the lobby, and once completed, place it in the basket. As a thank you, please feel free to choose one of the books provided. Want to Promote an Event or Ministry? – Do you have something you’d like to share with the church family? Whether it’s an upcoming event, ministry opportunity, fundraisers, or special announcement, we’d love to help spread the word in our monthly newsletter! To ensure your information is included, please submit all newsletter items by the 25th of each month. This allows us time to prepare and publish the upcoming issue.
